America for Culture opens the door to the rich history which has defined the melting-pot culture of western civilization. It is only with the knowledge of the past that we can understand ourselves and how our western civilization came to be. Our culture began with a foundation in communication, evolving into the social development of people working together to make life better for us all. America is the melting pot for all cultures and thus has the most opportunities to take advantage of the best from each of them. Understanding our values through art, literature, historical knowledge and social connections enables us to find the parallels of defining moments in modern times. Culture is the culmination of our history, tradition and values.
About Dr. Giuliana Castellani Koch
Giuliana Castellani Koch earned a doctorate in Italian literature from the University of Florence, Italy. Her early education, in Florence, focused on classical studies (liceo classico) and emphasized the culture and history of her city. Her published dissertation was on the poetry of Nobel Prize Winner Eugenio Montale. Giuliana’s family dates back to the 14th century in Florence.
In the U.S., Giuliana has taught Italian language and literature courses at several universities including the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and Rosary College in Chicago, Ill. Residing in Palm Beach, she serves on different cultural and wellness boards. She lectures on topics ranging from current events to Italian literature, arts and history.
